DART Mod for SpeedRunners 2: King of Speed
DART is the all-purpose community mod for SpeedRunners 2: King of Speed, featuring competitive matchmaking, rankings, custom skins, quality-of-life features and more. It runs inside the game every launch — press F2 and everything is there.
One mod, the whole competitive layer
Ranked 1v1 matchmaking
Queue from Discord or the in-game menu. The bot pairs you by ELO, runs the map vote, tracks the set and updates your rank, tier and profile automatically — that is the DART Circuit.
Rollback netcode
0-input-delay rollback pinned onto the live Photon Quantum session, with a rollback camera, net-stats overlay, desync watchdog and one-click rollback lobbies. Online play that feels like practice.
Practice tools
Up to 10 savestate slots, 7-step slow-mo plus a 0–200% slider, restart, clear-PB, camera zoom and instant stage quick-load. Every trigger is a hotkey you choose.
Ghosts, replays & time trials
Every clean practice lap is recorded. Race your own ghost or the world record holder's, watch replays frame by frame, and climb the global boards on all 16 maps for points.
Custom characters & skins
Built-in custom characters plus a drop-in user-skin system: paint a PNG (or re-texture the model), create, toggle. 1:1 in-game shading, shareable as a zip.
Tournaments & events in-game
The hub shows the current tournament, the ranked and Circuit boards and who is streaming. Sign up for a bracket without leaving the game.
Install once. Press Play.
Download and extract
Download the latest DART zip and extract the whole folder somewhere permanent, for example Documents\DART. Do not run it from inside the zip.
Run installer.bat once
Close SpeedRunners 2 (and exit Steam from the tray if the installer asks), then double-click installer.bat. It patches the game once — this takes a few seconds and only ever has to be done one time.
Play from Steam
Launch SpeedRunners 2 normally from Steam. In-game, press F2 to open the DART menu; the "DART" tab also appears in the main-menu bar.
Good to know
- Every other action ships unbound. Only the menu-open keys (F2, Insert, Shift+P) are set; you assign savestates, slow-mo, overlays and the rest under Settings › Hotkeys.
- Your files are yours. Binds, settings, savestates, skins and challenges live in your AppData folder and survive every update.
- Clean uninstall. Settings › Maintenance › Uninstall restores the vanilla game files.
- Open source spirit. DART is built and maintained by the community. Bugs and ideas go to the Discord.
Common questions
Is DART safe? Will it get me banned?
DART is an open community project that patches the game locally with Mono.Cecil; it does not touch SpeedRunners 2's executable and does not change your Steam launch options. It has been used by the competitive community for years, with the developers aware of it. Windows Defender reports the installer clean; some third-party scanners flag any unsigned program that rewrites files in another game's folder — see the troubleshooting section.
Do I need to reinstall DART after every update?
No. You run installer.bat exactly once. Every launch, DART checks the bot for a newer release and applies it before the next boot, silently.
Does DART work on Linux / Steam Deck?
Yes — Linux support (through Proton) landed in DART 2.6. The F2 menu auto-scales from 720p to 4K, including the Steam Deck.
Where are my settings, binds and savestates stored?
In %USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\tinyBuild\SpeedRunners 2\DART\ (DART.binds.txt, DART.settings.txt, DART.savestates.txt, DART.challenges.txt, DART.skins\). Updates never touch those files.
